Free client photo selection, without the gallery subscription
You delivered eight weeks ago. The album is still not designed, because the couple has not sent their picks. Send them the folder and one link instead.
Every wedding photographer has the same unpaid job at the end of a booking: chasing a couple for their album selections. You have already shot, culled, edited and delivered. The last step is out of your hands and it is the one that holds up the album, the final invoice, and the portfolio images you wanted from that wedding.
Shaadi Pic is a free browser tool that makes that step easy enough that couples finish it. This page is about how to fit it into how you already work.
Why couples stall
It is almost never disinterest. Three things reliably stop them:
- The folder is overwhelming. Ten thousand files with camera filenames, in nested subfolders, with no way to mark anything. They open it once and close it.
- The tool you gave them has friction. A proofing gallery means an account, a password they lose, and a page that reloads for every thumbnail on a bad connection.
- They do not know what you want. "Send me your favourites" has no finish line. "Send me 200, filenames unchanged" does.
How it fits your workflow
Nothing changes about how you deliver. Keep using Drive, WeTransfer, Dropbox, Pixieset, a hard drive in the post — whatever you use now.
- Deliver as usual. The couple ends up with a folder of JPEGs on their own machine.
- Send one link and one number. Point them at
shaadi-pic.aicleanerpro.appand tell them how many selects you want. - They pick on their laptop. The tool opens the folder from their drive, walks every subfolder, and shows the photos as one stream. Arrow keys to keep or skip.
- You get a folder back. Their keepers land in a
/selectedsubfolder with your filenames intact. They zip it and send it.
Because filenames are preserved, matching the selects back to your catalogue is a filename search, not a visual hunt.
Where it fits, and where it does not
| Shaadi Pic | Hosted proofing gallery | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Monthly, often per-storage |
| Client account | None | Usually required |
| Upload step | None — reads their local folder | You upload the full delivery first |
| Works offline | Yes, once the page has loaded | No |
| Filenames preserved | Yes | Usually yes |
| Client-facing branding | No — it is not your brand | Yes, white-label |
| Download tracking / sales | No | Yes |
| Client device | Laptop only, Chromium browsers | Any device |
To be straight about it: if you sell prints through your gallery, want your branding in front of the client, or need clients to be able to select from a phone, a hosted gallery is the right tool and this is not a replacement. Where this wins is the specific case of a couple sitting on a delivered folder who simply needs to get through it.
What to actually send your clients
The message that gets a response, more or less verbatim:
Your photos are in the folder I sent. When you're ready to choose album shots, open shaadi-pic.aicleanerpro.app on a laptop in Chrome and point it at that folder. Left arrow skips, right arrow keeps. It's free, nothing gets uploaded, and it saves your place if you stop halfway.
I'm looking for around 200 photos. Don't worry about colour or exposure — I'll handle that. Just pick the moments. When you're done, zip the
/selectedfolder it makes and send it back, and please don't rename anything.
Two details do most of the work: a specific number, and "don't worry about editing". Without the first they have no finish line; without the second they reject good frames for colour you were always going to fix.
It also helps to send them the culling guide — it explains the pass structure so they do not try to rank ten thousand photos at once.
Things worth knowing before you recommend it
- Laptop only. It needs the File System Access API — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Opera on a desktop or laptop. Desktop Safari and Firefox do not work. iPad and iPhone do not work either, because Apple does not let any iOS browser read a folder. Say "on a laptop, in Chrome" in your message and you will avoid most support questions.
- It writes into their folder. The
/selectedsubfolder is created inside the folder they opened. Originals are not moved, renamed or modified. - No AI selection. Every keep is the couple's own call. If you want automated culling, AfterShoot or FilterPixel are the tools for that; this is deliberately manual.
- Nothing is uploaded. Worth telling privacy-conscious clients directly — their wedding photos never leave their machine, and they can verify it in the browser's network tab.
- Progress is saved. Stored locally in their browser, so they can stop and resume across several evenings.
Try it on a folder from a past shoot
The fastest way to judge whether to send it to clients is to point it at a delivery folder you still have and run a few hundred frames yourself. It takes about two minutes to know.

Frequently asked questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes, with no paid tier. There is no hosting cost behind it, because nothing is uploaded — the tool runs in the client's browser against their own drive.
- How do selections come back to me?
-
As a
/selectedfolder with original filenames intact. The couple zips it and sends it, or sends you the filename list. - Do clients need an account or an upload?
- Neither. No sign-up, no upload, no upload limits, and no wait while a gallery processes thousands of files.
- What do clients need to run it?
- A laptop or desktop running Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Opera. Not iPad, not iPhone, not desktop Safari or Firefox.
- Does it pick photos for them with AI?
- No. Every keep is their decision, frame by frame.
